-Kirghizistan, Kirghizstan ou Kirghizia, officiellement la république de Kirghistan, pays de l'Asie Centrale, alignée au Nord par le Kazakhstan, à l'Est par la Chine, au Sud par la Chine et Tadjikistan et sur l'Ouest par Uzbekistan. La République antique soviétique socialiste du Kirghizes dans la structure de l'URSS, Kirghizistan est indépendante depuis 1991. Le pays est presque totalement montagneux et soumis aux tremblements de terre. La surface a de 198 500 km2. Bichkek (autrefois Frounze) est le capital{*capitale*} et la ville la plus importante de Kirghizistan.
